Candy Bouquet "Tulips" – A Homemade Mother’s Day Gift

The celebration of Mother’s day is really all about Mom. Regardless of how old you are or how busy you may be, you should make time to show your mom how much you really appreciate her. You can make your mom feel special by making her a unique gift, personalized just for her. Homemade Mother’s day gifts show Mom how much you care.

Materials needed for this homemade Mother’s Day candy bouquet gift: red cellophane, floral foam, Ferrero Rocher chocolates, a flower pot, bamboo skewers, red ribbon, and red and green tissue paper.

Step 1. Take floral foam and a flower pot of the colour you choose. Then, making sure it fits snugly, insert floral foam that is appropriately sized into the pot.

Step 2. Place the flower pot in the middle of a large square of green tissue paper. Next, pull the tissue paper up to wrap it around the pot, securing it in place by tying a piece of regular or curling red ribbon around the top of the tissue.

Step 3. Prepare squares of red cello, green floral tape, Ferrero Rocher chocolates, scissors and bamboo skewers.

Step 4. Now, you are ready to begin making candy flowers. Take a square of red cello and a Ferrero Rocher chocolate. Next, using the square of red cellophane and gathering it at one end, wrap the piece of chocolate.

Step 5. Cut off the extra cellophane if you need to with scissors. Slip in a bamboo skewer before you twist the cellophane closed, being careful not to poke it right into the actual candy. Then, use green floral tape to tightly wrap the skewer and loose end of the cellophane.

Step 6.

a) Cut 9 inch x 7 inch rectangles out of red crepe or tissue paper.

b) Take a rectangle and fold it in half lengthwise.

c) Next, as is demonstrated in the pictures, wrap the tissue paper around a piece of chocolate.

Step 7. Now you need to attach some leaves to the skewer to finish off your candy tulip. Take green tissue or crepe paper and cut out some leaves. Then, use green floral tape to secure the leaves to the candy flower’s stick.

Step 8. Now, you can make as many tulips as you would like for your candy bouquet. Then, arrange them in the flower pot as you please. You are almost finished making your Mother’s Day gift.

Step 9. To make it even more interesting, you can add some special decorations to your candy bouquet such as a “Happy Mother’s Day” pick, a “Best Mom” balloon, a personalized card with a special message, a plastic lady bug, etc.
