Cute Fall Wreath Ideas: How to make a fall candy wreath

Autumn is very beautiful with all of these yellow, red and orange leaves. Wreaths are a great way to bring bright fall colors to your home! And what can be better than unique DIY wreaths? If you are on a lookout for wonderful fall wreath ideas, check out this colorful candy wreath. The step-by-step tutorial below will show you how to make a fall candy wreath within one hour.

You will need:

  • Wreath frame
  • Orange tissue paper of crepe paper streamer
  • Small yellow M&M packs
  • Small red Skittles packs
  • Card stock in fall colors
  • Double sided adhesive tape
  • Narrow ribbon
  • A glue gun with a glue stick

Step 1. First of all, you will need a wreath frame. Foam wreaths are quite expensive. You can make a wreath frame yourself or buy a cheap metal or straw wreath at a craft store or at a dollar store.

I didn’t have a frame at home, so I decided to make one myself. I had a brown cardboard box at home. Using a pair of compasses, I draw two parts of the wreath on the cardboard. I cut these parts and glue them together.

My wreath is quite small, only 12 inches.

Step 2.To disguise the brown cardboard, I wrapped it with strips of orange tissue paper. You can also use crepe paper streamer.

Step 3. Attach candy pieces to the frame.

To make this candy wreath, I used small yellow M&M packs (1.74 oz) and small red Skittles packs. In this example, 4 M&M packs and 4 Skittles packs were used.

Using double-sided adhesive tape, secure candy pieces to the frame. I alternated red and yellow packs.

Step 4. Prepare red, yellow and orange card stock paper. Search Google for ‘maple leaf template’. Print them and cut them.

Step 5. The last thing is to make a hanger.

I used narrow yellow ribbon. You can use something different. Make a loop out of the ribbon and secure it to the back of the wreath using hot glue and clear packing tape over it.
