To make this delicious Valentine gift for him or her, you will need: cookie dough, chocolate hearts (or marshmallow hearts), a container, wooden skewers, floral foam, pink and/or red tissue paper, pink and red curling ribbon, a heart shaped balloon, and tools (a heart shaped cookie cutter, scissors and wire cutters). Valentines Day Gifts - step 1. Prepare floral foam and a container you would like to use for your Valentines edible arrangement. A theme mug is used in this example. Cut a piece of floral foam so it fits snugly into the container. Wrap the foam in pink or red tissue paper before putting it into the container. Bake Heart Cookie Flowers - step 2. Next step in making this homemade gift is to bake heart-shaped cookies. The cookies should be about 1/2 thick so you can insert a wooden skewer or a lollipop stick into the base of each cookie to about the middle of the cookie. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until lightly browned. Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on baking sheets for several minutes before transferring them to a plate using a spatula. Do not pick up the cookies by their stick until they are completely cool. DIY Cookie Bouquet - step 3. Decorate cookies with icing. How to make a cookie bouquet - step 4. Arrange cookies in the container. Put your edible bouquet together any way you like. Push the sticks into the foam. Start with the tallest cookie flower in the middle of the arrangement. Then work toward the front. Finally insert some cookies in the back of the arrangement so your cookie bouquet looks good all around. Cute Valentines Day Gifts - step 5. You can add a heart shaped balloon to your arrangement (it can be a small one, or a big one as in this example). DIY Valentine Gifts: You can add candy pieces to the Cookie Bouquet You may want to make this edible arrangement even more delicious by adding some candy. You can use any other candy or marshmallow hearts or flowers. Do not be afraid to experiment. Let your imagination lead you. Happy crafting! Lana Glass
